Southern Living Associate Garden Editor Rebecca Bull Reed created this work of art and added the wise words “Spooky is what you think you see.” What do you see?
Halloween in Azores
Even until a few years ago, Halloween was not popular in São Miguel. It was regarded only as something that Americans celebrate and something Americanized. But nowadays this is a growing trend here. It is a custom for kids to go from house to house asking for candies and playing tricks on that night. This is really a fun-time for the kids because they can go around tricking others and treating themselves. This celebration is gaining more and more fans. There are many Halloween parties taking place all over the island. People have fun and dress up in spooky costumes that reflect the Halloween theme.
